Once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open. ~ Laura Bush
Public libraries play an important role in their communities. Libraries provide a wealth of materials and resources as well as various services and programs, promoting literacy and improving the overall quality of life. Have you visited the public library recently?
Last weekend, I read during Storytime at my local library. What a delightful experience it was! Surprised at the sheer number of children under age six, everyone sang, moved, laughed, and listened to beautifully illustrated books and songs about the alphabet, numbers, and directional words. Children cheerfully chased bubbles from the bubble machine as they sang a “pop” song. Too soon, Storytime ended with a simple arts and crafts. How fun learning can be with a little bit of imagination!
